Ron Combs & Stephanie Mockler Win Rushville Nationals Night One

Ron Combs and Stephanie Mockler won on night one of the Rushville Nationals at the Rush County Fairgrounds on Friday night. The event sponsored by Hubler Chevrolet featured the Dutch Mill Buffet UMRA TQ Midgets and the 600cc micros sponsored by Culvers of Greenfield.
In the micro portion of the program Stephanie Mockler took the lead just past the halfway point of the 40-lap feature and never looked back as she took the win followed to the checkered flag by Shane Williamson, Garrett Abrams, Laine Hite, and Todd Trickle. The 10-lap heats went to Chris Miller, Brandon Rose, Stephen Schnapf, and Stephanie Mockler. The 12-lap semi was won by Tyler Marsh.
The Dutch Mill Buffet UMRA TQ Midgets ran in honor of the memory of long-time UMRA supporter Crocky Wright. The 25-lap feature fittingly went to two-time UMRA champion Ron Combs driving a car owned by Tony Stewart, who was discovered by Crocky Wright in 1989. Following Combs to the finish was Brandon Gray, Scott Petry, Robbie Roland, and Zach Cougill. Quick time was Robbie Roland at 13.023 seconds. The trophy dash was won by Brandon Gray and the 10-lap heats went to CJ Leary, Scott Petry, and Patrick Wolf. The five gallons of fuel from the G&G Oil “Hard Charger of the Race” went to Nick Spiedel who advanced from 23rd to 8th in the feature. The $50 from the “Tony Stewart Rookie Challenge” went to Jon Steed.
